Tom Brady’s first-quarter “arm punt” helped one bettor earn a $50,000 payday.

Brady, the Pro Bowl quarterback, dropped back to pass on a 1st-and-10 play from the New England 5-yard line in Sunday’s Super Bowl. After scanning the field and failing to find an open receiver, he threw the ball deep across the middle in the direction of …

The officials threw a flag and ruled it intentional grounding, and just like that, the New York Giants had themselves a 2-0 lead only six minutes into the game.

Case Keefer, a reporter for the Las Vegas Sun, tweeted out late Sunday night that MGM properties lost roughly $250,000 on the safety, which carried odds of 50-to-1. That was a poor start for the sportsbook, which reportedly turned a small profit on the Super Bowl.
