The officials threw a flag and ruled it intentional grounding, and just like that, the New York Giants had themselves a 2-0 lead only six minutes into the game.
Case Keefer, a reporter for the Las Vegas Sun, tweeted out late Sunday night that MGM properties lost roughly $250,000 on the safety, which carried odds of 50-to-1. That was a poor start for the sportsbook, which reportedly turned a small profit on the Super Bowl.
